Sub: Writ petition (c) no. 1259/2019 seeking directions of the implementation of the judgement of the Supreme Court in Swapnil Tripathi v. Supreme Court of India, in which I was also a party. Namely, WP (c) no. 861 of 2018.

The Writ petition on the subjected cited above has been pending for the last more than 2 years and it has not even once been listed after its final numbering, though, I made repeated requests in person, as also over the phone. I believe the inordinate delay is solely due to the pressure of other matters which are equally pressing, if not having inadvertently lost the attention of the persons concerned in the Registry. So far as the Indian judiciary is concerned, there could be few subjects, in my humble opinion, which is more important and of greater urgency. I am not much concerned of the live streaming of the court proceedings, which certainly I welcome, my real concern is about the video recording of the court proceedings and making it available to the litigant public and the lawyers, as a matter of their right. I say so because often submissions made by counsel which are crucial to the determination of the case are even refused to be recorded, to the despair of the litigant concerned. Recording of court proceedings and making it available to the litigants will mean revolutionary changes in the justice delivery system. It will make the lawyer and the judge far more accountable and help the truth to prevail over injustice and opaqueness. I am sure your kindself will be gracious enough to pay your kind attention to this request and ensure that the case is listed without any further delay.

With kind regards,

Yours Sincerely,
